Love Food Festival is back — with food trucks from three continents

Street food lovers, this one’s for you. The Love Food Festival is returning to the capital next month for the second year, bringing renowned food trucks from the UK, the US and Singapore with it. The festival’s first weekend will be in Al Ain February 9 to 11 with a second weekend in Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi from February 16 to 18.

There will be 10 food trucks from the UK, 10 from the US and a handful of street food vendors from Singapore, in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board. Mohammed Firhan, MENA director of the Singapore Tourism Board, says: “The Singapore Tourism Board is excited to be a part of the Love Food Festival in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi to showcase the best of our street food scene right here in the Middle East. Singapore has a reputation as one of the best culinary destinations with a variety of authentic street food to the Michelin-starred restaurants. Our local food is an amalgamation of Chinese, Malay, Indian and caucasian influences which is a part of our rich cultural heritage.”

The street food road show will also showcase some of the best food trucks the UAE has to offer. The festival will also have live cookery demonstrations and workshops with chefs, a tea and cake feature, live music, a kids’ play area and food-related films playing in the outdoor theatre with themed food for each movie.

Philip Lowery, director of Food Market Events Middle East FZ LLC, says: “The inaugural Love Food Festival was met with great enthusiasm from the public. For the first time in the UAE, GCC and probably the world, we are delighted to present this original concept and bring together the very best of UK, USA, UAE and Singapore street food vendors in one place at the same time. This international mix brings something new and different to the community in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.”
