The celebrity chefs Eric Lanlard and Jean-Christophe Novelli are headlining this year’s Taste of Dubai at the weekend. Visitors to the food festival, now in its seventh year, can expect demonstrations and tips from Lanlard, an award-winning master patissier, and Novelli, a Michelin-starred chef from France. Novelli said: I think it is a great opportunity to participate at Taste of Dubai for the first time, I’m very excited. Like other popular food shows around the world, Taste of Dubai is a great way to meet people of different nationalities as well as your fans. I hope the audience and visitors will love what I have planned for the festival.” Other celebrity chefs joining the festival are the Food Network stars Reza Mahammad, Jenny Morris and Siba Mtonga.
The three-day gourmet food festival is one of the highlights of the Dubai culinary calendar. Among the restaurants participating this year are Almaz by Momo, Emporio Armani Caffe, La Porte Des Indes, St Tropez Cafe, The Act, Cafe Belge, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Rivington Grill, Asado, Gaucho, Thiptara and many more. Cafe Habana is creating a pop-up restaurant called Little Cuba which will feature an array of Latin-influenced dishes plus live performances from DJs, bongo players and dancers, bringing a Caribbean feel to the festival.
The children’s section is also biiger and better this year and kids will be welcomed into the area by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The vast array of activites include Zumba Beats with a qualified fitness instructor and hip-hop dance lessons.
