The celebrity chefs Eric Lanlard and Jean-Christophe Novelli are headlining this year’s Taste of Dubai at the weekend. Visitors to the food festival, now in its seventh year, can expect demonstrations and tips from Lanlard, an award-winning master patissier, and Novelli, a Michelin-starred chef from France. Novelli said: I think it is a great opportunity to participate at Taste of Dubai for the first time, I’m very excited. Like other popular food shows around the world, Taste of Dubai is a great way to meet people of different nationalities as well as your fans. I hope the audience and visitors will love what I have planned for the festival.” Other celebrity chefs joining the festival are the Food Network stars Reza Mahammad, Jenny Morris and Siba Mtonga.

The three-day gourmet food festival is one of the highlights of the Dubai culinary calendar. Visitors not only get the opportunity to sample small plates of signature dishes from the city’s best restaurants, but also listen to live music on the grassy knolls of the Media City Amphitheatre, check out cooking demonstrations and purchase the latest in kitchen technology and luxury foodstuffs.

Among the restaurants participating this year are Almaz by Momo, Emporio Armani Caffe, La Porte Des Indes, St Tropez Cafe, The Act, Cafe Belge, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Rivington Grill, Asado, Gaucho, Thiptara and many more. Cafe Habana is creating a pop-up restaurant called Little Cuba which will feature an array of Latin-influenced dishes plus live performances from DJs, bongo players and dancers, bringing a Caribbean feel to the festival.

The children’s section is also biiger and better this year and kids will be welcomed into the area by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The vast array of activites include Zumba Beats with a qualified fitness instructor and hip-hop dance lessons.

Ticket holders will also automatically enter a prize draw, with the chance to win a VIP trip to Taste of London including return air fares, a stay at the luxury Le Meridien Piccadilly, dinner at Reza Mahammad’s restaurant The Star of India and a shopping experience at Marks & Spencer.

Taste of Dubai is on Thursday from 4pm to 12am; Friday from 12pm to 12am and Saturday from 12pm to 11pm.
