Dubai Foodie News: Two new restaurants, Christmas cookie decorating and a disco sushi brunch

• Check out Atisuto, a new Japanese restaurant that opened this week at The Galleria Mall Al Wasl Road. The artfully designed eatery is decked out with all types of Japanese art including canvas paintings, traditional Japanese Noh masks and street and graffiti art. Some of Atisuto's signature items include the Green Paradise Roll (filled with vitamins and superfoods), the Sunrise Roll (wrapped in salmon), nasu dengaka (miso-glazed aubergine) and wasabi prawns. • Enjoy a pre-Christmas brunch on Friday at OKKU's Disco Sushi Brunch. The brunch starts with a festive cocktail reception, after which guests will sit down to enjoy a 12-course menu featuring OKKU's most-loved dishes. • Gather the kids and head to Java Jolt on December 23 for a Christmas cookie decorating class. The one-hour classes run all day long starting from 8:30am. Kids can decorate homemade orange-flavoured shortbread cookies (made with organic whole-wheat flour) any way they like. Chef Khomotšo Leluma will teach the kids how to make cookie dough and cut shapes. For kids ages 3 to 15, Dh50. Java Jolt is located on level one of Le Solarium Tower, Dubai Silicon Oasis. • Coya Dubai, the highly-anticipated Peruvian restaurant in the Four Seasons Resort, opened its doors this week. The restaurant, which operates a successful outlet in London and has another scheduled to open in Miami, will offer authentic Peruvian cuisine including classic ceviche, tiraditos (sliced raw fish) and anticuchos — skewers of meat, fish and vegetables.
