Foodies in Sharjah will be happy to hear that food delivery service Deliveroo launched in the emirate on Monday, November 4. Not only can residents now use the app to get their favourite dishes brought directly to their doorsteps, but the service is also offering free delivery for a limited time to all Sharjah customers from a selection of 115 restaurants.

The launch marks the company's third city in the UAE, and its fourth in the Mena region after it landed in Kuwait earlier this year.

“The UAE has proven to be a very exciting market for Deliveroo, with a diverse range of partners and customers across markets. Sharjah has a thriving community with a lot of demand and we look forward to working with our new restaurant partners to expand their businesses,” says Anis Harb, general manager of Deliveroo GCC.

Sharjah residents can order in from a mix of global chains and local restaurants including Jones The Grocer, Nando’s, Pizza Hut, Paul Bakery and Restaurant, Zaroob, Al Mallah, Kulfilicious, Makani Restaurant, Dessi Cuppa and Bombay Club.

The launch comes just in time for Deliveroo's fourth birthday in the UAE, which the company is celebrating with an interactive pop-up food experience, called Design, Delivered, at Dubai Design Week. Visitors can expect food-inspired installations and interactive exhibits (walk-in ovens and life-size noodle bowls are just a sample of what to expect).

Globally, the London-headquartered company, works with more than 80,000 restaurants and 60,000 riders.
