Dairy Queen is scheduled to open not just one, but two restaurants in Abu Dhabi soon. We’ve seen the evidence ourselves on a recent trip to Yas Mall and our sources say the beloved American restaurant chain will open there “in the next two months.”
In our search for all things Dairy Queen, we learnt there’s another one scheduled to open in the World Trade Centre Mall in Abu Dhabi as well.
This isn’t the first time Dairy Queen has served up its famous frozen treats in the capital. In the early 80s, Dairy Queen was a favourite spot among those in the city. It had a long run, but the last DQ chain in the UAE closed up shop in 2010.
Now, Berkshire Hathaway (the company that owns DQ) says they’ll be rolling out up to 20 DQ restaurants around the country.
If you can’t wait to grab one of the restaurant’s famous unspillable Blizzards at the soon-to-open Abu Dhabi branches, make your way up to Ras Al Khaimah where there’s already a Dairy Queen serving up signature treats in the Al Naeem Mall. It opened in July.
