Dubai has announced a number of measures to ease the restrictions put in place in recent months amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Most notably, children under the age of 12 and those over 60 are now allowed in cinemas, gyms, swimming pools and shopping malls.

With the emirate's families in mind, a number of restaurants in Dubai have launched sweet deals to welcome little ones back.

Here are a few places where children can eat for free.

Taqado Mexican Kitchen

The casual Mexican food joint has rolled out a special offer to welcome back children as restrictions are eased. Customers visiting any Taqado branch with children up to the age of 12 and ordering a main menu item will get a main course from the kids' menu for free. Taqado’s Mini Luchadores menu is comprised of dishes such as mini burritos, burrito boxes, quesadillas, crispy tacos and more. This offer is valid until Monday, August 31.

Black Tap

The casual bar-restaurant is known for its burgers and 'crazyshakes' and it's launched a deal for little ones at its new Dubai Mall branch. Until Tuesday, July 7, all children under the age of 12 are eligible for a free kids' menu item with the purchase of one main menu item for adults. Dishes include the mini prime burger, crispy chicken tenders and mini fish and chips, all with a side of fries.

McGettigan's

Families that head to the Jumeirah Lakes Towers branch of McGettigan's Irish restaurant between 12pm and 3pm during weekdays get one free children's meal, as long as there's a paying adult there, too.

The Green Planet

Dubai's popular indoor rainforest attraction is now welcoming visitors of all ages and, to sweeten the deal, has also launched a special offer: with every entry ticket purchased, customers will receive a complimentary meal at The Green Planet Cafe.

On the menu are salads, burgers, pizzas and pastas. This one is not just limited to children, either. The offer runs from Monday to Thursday and meals must be claimed on the same day as the ticket purchase.
