The UAE’s burger scene just got bigger and better: Burger Joint New York has opened its first eatery at CityWalk Dubai.
Inside the outlet, it’s all New York New York, with dramatic high ceilings, mock brick walls and fire escapes. There’s even a street lamp right in the middle that was actually imported from the Big Apple.
But you can devour your burger alfresco if you like — there’s a terrace upstairs with views over the Burj Khalifa.
New York Magazine voted Burger Joint New York’s standard burger (pictured) as the “Best Classic Burger” — described as “toasted buns sandwiching a patty cloaked in melted American cheese and with slices of onion, iceberg lettuce and tomato”.
Each burger comes in a ripped-up cardboard box with instructions handwritten on the side: “Hamburger or Cheese burger?” “How do you want it cooked?” “What do you want on it?”
The restaurant is easy enough to spot — there’s a big neon burger hanging outside.
