Sportswear brand Nike has unveiled plus-size and para-sport mannequins in its new women’s space in its London flagship, NikeTown. The store on Oxford Street has dedicated its third floor to women of all sizes and abilities and the newly unveiled mannequins have been welcomed as a change from typical models on display in stores.

In addition to the mannequins, women can also head to the NikeTown store for bespoke personalisation services, personal styling, one-on-one sessions with Nike trainers and bra fittings.

Back in 2017, Nike launched its plus size clothing range that extends to 3XL. They have also collaborated with high profile fashion bloggers such as Chloe Elliott on campaigns for more inclusion of plus size women.

“With the incredible momentum in women’s sport right now, the re-designed space is just another demonstration of Nike’s commitment to inspiring and serving the female athlete,” says Sarah Hannah, Nike’s GM/VP for Women in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“This is more than a shopping experience; it’s a destination to celebrate sport just in time for an incredible summer of football, netball, athletics and more.”

Nike also had the honour of designing football kits for 14 teams in this year's Women's World Cup. They include the US, Australia, England, France, Brazil, and China, among others.

In addition to that, the sportswear company is not only a champion for women's sport but also for inclusion. The Nike Pro Hijab, which was released in December 2017, has seen growing interest in the lightweight head-piece as it was recently announced as one of the most searched for clothing terms in the world.
