She's long rumoured to have been the woman who introduced Meghan Markle to Prince Harry, and now Misha Nonoo has had her own fairytale ending.

The designer, who was born in Bahrain and now lives in the US, tied the knot with oil heir Mikey Hess last month, with guests at the Italian event including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, model Karlie Kloss and singer Katy Perry.

Nonoo, who launched her eponymous label in 2011, this week shared a first look at her gown from the Friday, September 20 ceremony, with the creation designed by the bride herself.

"Last weekend I married the love of my life in a dress I designed especially for the occasion. It was such a special process to make this one-of-a-kind piece, particularly when I usually design with every woman in mind, the options felt endless," the 31-year-old captioned an Instagram post, featuring several shots of the gown.

"In the end, we selected a hand-embroidered guipure lace on laser-cut silk organza embroidered by a Swiss family-run mill established in 1904. We finished the piece with a 10-metre-long silk tulle veil. I wanted to share these images with you and thank you all for your incredibly warm wishes as we embark on married life together.”

Nonoo and Hess wed in Rome, with stars including Orlando Bloom, Princess Beatrice and Ellie Goulding also in attendance.

The designer's friendship with the Duchess of Sussex dates back years, when the royal was an actress on TV show Suits.

The two most recently collaborated on a capsule fashion collection for charity Smart Works, of which Meghan is a patron. The line consists of workwear pieces, with profits going towards supporting the organisation, which helps underprivileged women secure employment.

The Duchess of Sussex has also been a long-time champion of Nonoo's namesake label, and wore a sleeveless top by the brand earlier this week during her royal tour of South Africa.

"We are honored HRH the Duchess of Sussex chose to wear our Boyfriend Tank while discussing inequality and women’s rights on royal tour in South Africa," Nonoo's Instagram detailed.

"We are so grateful to be included in conversations about the empowerment of women – this is a core value that runs deep through each member of our staff and in all of our customers."
