It might have been her first-ever show in Egypt, but that wasn't the only milestone that occurred when Jennifer Lopez took to the stage in a coastal town north of Cairo.

The Get on the Floor hitmaker switched up her tour wardrobe for the occasion, donning a design by a local label for Friday's performance in El Alamein.

Lopez, who is currently embarking on her It's My Party world tour to celebrate turning 50 on July 24, wore a creation by Egypt's Nagwa Zahran for a segment on stage on August 9.

The sequinned scarlet dress, with illusion mesh and a swirling skirt, was custom-made for the star, Zahran revealed in a social media post.

"A milestone and a dream come true! Proud to be the first Egyptian designer to dress J-Lo," she told her 145,000 Instagram followers.

Zahran later shared her thanks for "all support", adding she was "humbled and appreciative" to those who had helped her realise her dreams.

Lopez, who works with stylist Rob Zangardi, also championed another label from the region during her show, wearing a custom-made leotard by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran.

The Papi singer teamed the distinctive piece with thigh-high boots in a matching luminescent palette, which were created by Jebran in collaboration with Lebanese shoe designer Andrea Wazan.

During the It's My Party tour, Lopez also sports a dramatic, beaded mini dress by another designer from Lebanon: Zuhair Murad.

The midnight-blue creation, teamed with a silky, crystal-studded bomber jacket, was a bespoke couture outfit made especially for the star, the label revealed on Instagram in June, adding that Lopez "absolutely rocks the stage."

It's not the first time the singer has turned to designers of the Arab world during her decades-long career. Lopez, who is engaged to former baseball star Alex Rodriguez, has previously worn gowns by Murad to the 2012 Oscars and the 2015 Golden Globes, and has also been spotted in creations by Elie Saab, Rami Al Ali and Rami Kadi.

The star also donned a look by Dubai-based label Amato Couture in her music video for single Medicine, which was first released in April.
