Last year, the world seemed to go crazy for a roomy, leopard-print dress from Zara that was so popular, it spawned its own social media following and became known the world over simply as that dress.

While this year is different in many ways, as we start to venture out of our houses once more, the race is on to see what, if any, dress will have the same level of devotion.

Click through the gallery above for our round-up, with most styles under Dh500.

With many of the season's predicted trends feeling a touch out of step in the post-Covid-19 reality, a new variation of the roomy, relaxed and oh-so-forgiving tiered maxi dress will rule. Easy to wear, this soft shape offers some much-needed reassurance, while still ticking all the boxes of Little Women and boho-inspired looks.

Patterns, too, will be a safe bet, as we all look to inject a bit of fun into everyday looks, and while cool blues and pastel lilacs will look urban and pulled together, don't forget the warm embrace of sunset shades.

Wear it loose or cinch with a belt, and enjoy wearing more than just one way, teamed with trainers, espadrilles or the square-toe shoes of summer. Just don't forget your face mask and sunscreen.
