Why is this clutch titled the Lauren 1980, you may wonder? Well, it was one of the stars of American Gigolo, having been carried onscreen by actress Lauren Hutton, who played Richard Gere's love interest in the 1980 film.

The original was created in a burnt red colour, and was often spotted tucked under Hutton's arm in the film.

To celebrate the brand's 50th anniversary, Bottega Veneta unveiled a range of designs modelled after this iconic clutch for the autumn/winter 2017 season. Now available in exotic textures, such as crocodile and ostrich skins, and in hues including desert rose and dark bronze, the reimagined pouch is sleek, sophisticated and versatile, making it a timeless investment with serious star appeal. Prices range from Dh8,815 to Dh20,200.

Forever attached to the clutch that bears her own name, Hutton carried it to the fashion house's spring/summer 2018 show at Milan Fashion Week in September.
