BET Awards 2019: The 33 best-dressed stars on the red carpet – in pictures

Some of the music, film and sporting industries most famous faces congregated in Los Angeles last night, to attend the annual BET Awards.

The ceremony, which honours African Americans and other American minorities in fields of entertainment, took place on June 23, with stars of the screen and soundwaves turning out to celebrate the night's winners.

Singers Ciara, John Legend and H.E.R. were on the red carpet, along with actors Yara Shahidi, Regina Hall and Lena Waithe. While she wasn't photographed arriving, Rihanna also made an appearance, to give Mary J Blige the Lifetime Achievement Awards.

The awards, which were established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network, also honoured Tyler Perry, Cardi B and Ella Mai with trophies.

Performances came courtesy of Cardi B, Blige and H.E.R, while in memoriam tributes were made to director John Singleton, who died in April, and rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was shot outside his clothing store in March.

Married Malala

Malala Yousafzai is enjoying married life, her father said.

The 24-year-old married Pakistan cricket executive Asser Malik last year in a small ceremony in the UK.

Ziauddin Yousafzai told The National his daughter was ‘very happy’ with her husband.
