ABU DHABI // A new resolution stipulates that no events should be organised in the emirate unless they are approved through an events licensing system.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, issued on Wednesday a resolution on the creation of an events licensing system in the emirate.

No event shall be organised or held in Abu Dhabi without a licence, which will be obtained through the new system, according to the resolution issued by Sheikh Mohammed, who is also Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority will coordinate with concerned entities to establish the system.

The authority will also set regulations, requirements and procedures for licensing.

The resolution also prohibits people from using the name “Abu Dhabi”, “the Government” or “the promotional identity of the emirate” in any events without obtaining approval through the licensing system.
