Emaar denies reports of building tower taller than Burj Khalifa

A spokesman says no firm decision has yet been made, and media reports could have been based on an interview their chairman had with CNN in April.

has denied reports it is to build a high-rise taller than the Burj Khalifa, state news agency Wam said.

“In a television conversation with CNN during April this year, company chairman Mohamed Alabbar discussed tall towers and modern technologies that make it possible for Dubai to build another tall building,” said a spokesman.

“The media reports used this April conversation as a source which does not spell a firm decision. Emaar, however, does not have any current plans to develop a building taller than
