ABU DHABI // Abu Dhabi Media’s new children’s channel, which was announced in March, will be named Majid.
It is the latest addition to the Abu Dhabi Television network and is set to broadcast Arabic edutainment for children of all ages.
The channel will officially start broadcasting in September and will ensure that the renowned Majid magazine keeps the look and feel on screen as it does in print.
Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, chairman and managing director of Abu Dhabi Media, which owns The National, said that the magazine, as will do the channel, contributes tremendously towards the development and sustainability of the UAE’s culture and tradition.
The channel’s soft launch coincides with the inauguration of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which takes place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from May 7 to 13. Guests are invited to join the characters on a stand designed to showcase the new channel and recruit young talent.
