The first phase of a new electronic location system is to launch in October, Dubai Municipality has announced.
The e-address system Makani will allow people to locate entrances of buildings, warehouses, schools, farms and mosques, as well as free zones in the emirate.
Abdulhakim Malik, GIS director at Dubai Municipality, said: “Phase 1 will cover 40,000 buildings in 63 districts, in addition to government departments and the metro stations.”
The app is available for smart phones, tablet computers and car navigation systems.
