Should Opec heed Iran's call for reduced oil production?

Iran wants Opec to reduce production to stem the recent decline of oil prices, in spite of crude still trading higher than it did a year ago. Should Opec take its lead from Iran and reduce oil production? Should Opec play an active role in managing the price of oil?
