Gulf Finance House (GFH) said it completed the sale of Leeds United Football Club to Eleonara Sport Limited (ESL) after the Football League approved the appointment of Massimo Cellino as a director of the club.

ESL will hold 75 per cent of the total shares of the Championship club in England, while GFH will retain 25 per cent of the club.

The deal will improve the financial position of GFH, the company said in a filing to the Dubai stock exchange.
