For Dh13.5 million you can buy the penthouse at the top of one of the world’s highest residential skyscrapers – the Torch Tower in Dubai Marina.
In fact Dubai is home to four of the world’s top residential skyscrapers – with Torch Tower coming in fourth position – so to be living in a sky-high residence affords a certain feeling of exclusivity. You are literally looking down on the rest of the city.
The Torch Tower has four penthouses on the 83rd and 84th floors occupying half a floor each, so the exclusivity is somewhat diluted.
Nevertheless, the apartment meets the strict (ish) tenets of penthouse living, being at the very top of a very tall tower with luxury in its DNA.
This apartment sits on the 84th floor with the owner entering via exclusive lift access into a large hallway that leads on to a spacious lounge/dining room. The apartment is 6,500 square feet but the space appears larger as the lounge offers a 180° vista.
The views are stunning owing to the fact that whatever your wish is, it’s available – Palm Jumeirah (tick), Arabian Gulf (tick), The Montgomery golf course (tick), the towering Dubai Marina skyline (tick).
The apartment is offered fully furnished after a recent refurbishment that involved new flooring being added along with new bathrooms and kitchen.
There are four en suite bedrooms with a fifth bathroom and maid’s room.
The Torch Tower’s facilities include a big gym with male and female spa and an outdoor pool that has recently been restyled with decking and uber-fashionable furniture for its users.
The tower also has a grocery store so that its occupants can have those things that get overlooked delivered to their door.
On the downside, for a four-bedroom penthouse, the offer of one parking space in the tower seems rather ungenerous but others are available for rent. The current occupant rents another three, which would seem a more correct approximation on vehicle ownership for someone spending Dh13.5m on a penthouse.
