Agthia Group, the UAE food and beverage company, has confirmed Iqbal Hamzah as its new chief executive.
Mr Hamzah had been in the role of acting chief executive since May and has previously been group chief financial officer and company secretary at the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange-listed company.
“Hamzah has a deep and unparalleled understanding of the Agthia business, having spent over eight years in our senior management team,” said Dhafer Ayed Al Ahbabi, chairman of Agthia Group.
“His experience and knowledge of the business was a critical factor in the board’s decision to formalise his appointment as our new chief executive, to guide us through the next stage of our expansion programme.”
Earlier this year Agthia launched Monster beverage products in the UAE and has also recently commissioned a new high-speed bottling line and a new modern mega-distribution centre.
