In a land known for its flashy motors and extravgant spending, it should come as no huge surprise that Rolls-Royce does well in the UAE.
But one dealership has done better than the other 126 spread around the globe - and that’s Abu Dhabi.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Abu Dhabi was the company’s best-selling dealership in 2014. With year-on-year sales growth at 20 per cent in the Middle East, the region was the second best performer globally behind North America.
The UAE meanwhile was the company’s third largest market in the world last year.
Global sales of 4,063 were a record for a fifth consecutive year and have quadrupled since 2009, the carmaker said.
“This fifth consecutive record year saw Rolls-Royce Motor Cars break through the 4,000 car sales level for the first time in its 111-year history,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, chief executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
“This extraordinary success has been built on strong foundations: pinnacle products, dedicated people and a commitment to ensuring a balanced global sales picture.”
Although the company did not specify sales in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, it said that global sales were driven by strong orders for the Ghost Series II and the Wraith which had its first full year of sales.
