THE ACT DUBAI
The concept: Opened by Simon Hammerstein, founder of The Box Soho in London and grandson of lyricist Oscar Hammerstein, The Act Dubai, located on the 42nd and 43rd floors of Dubai's Shangri-La Hotel, flies in a wide array of performers from across the globe for shows on Thursday and Sunday evenings.
The food: The substantial Peruvian menu features dishes such as ceviche and arros con pato (duck and rice).
The entertainment: The Act Dubai doesn't restrict itself to one genre and shows could feature anything from acrobatics to a man with a crossbow firing at balloons pinned to a beautiful sidekick.

MUSIC HALL
The concept: Founded by the Lebanese politician, artist, producer and entrepreneur Michel "The Emperor" Elefteriades in Beirut in 2003, Music Hall, as the name suggests, focuses on musical acts.
The food: The menu features appetisers such as salads and sashimi, a range of sharing platters, mains including steaks, risotto and sea bass and classic desserts such as chocolate fondant and tiramisu.
The entertainment: It might be restricted to musicians, but performances at Music Hall can range from opera to reggae.
