Possibly one of the best places for a civilian to view progress on Reem Island and Sowwah Island is the 18th floor of the Beach Rotana Hotel. There is a little cafe there that has big windows overlooking the construction.
However, if you call the right people at the right time you might get access to the roof of the office towers next door. Check out this shot by Phil Cheung yesterday - this roof is one of the highest points in Abu Dhabi.
In other news on Reem Island, the developer of Marina Square is planning to launch five more towers at Cityscape to test the market.
