Bibliophiles rejoice. More than one million books will be at your fingertips with the creation of the UAE Digital Library.
The project to encourage the spread of cultural and scientific knowledge on a digital platform was launched by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. The project will also focus on works from Emirati creators, authors and writers.
The minister said the launch of the platform is in line with the massive technological and scientific progress around the world and the use of online platforms to access content.
The library will also promote local and Arab authors and benefit readers all over the world with an open access. The initiative is inviting all local and international institutors and publishing houses to join the efforts in building the library.
