Tamil actor Suriya plans to join Twitter and Facebook to connect with fans

Tamil actor Suriya is set to become the next big thing on Twitter, after superstar Rajinikanth of course. The South Indian actor expressed a desire to keep in touch with his fans through Twitter and Facebook at a recent event for his forthcoming movie Anjaan. The trailer of the film registered one million hits within two days of the release.

The movie, directed by N Linguswamy, has Suriya playing a gangster in Mumbai. It also features the Bollywood actors Manoj Bajpai, Vidyut Jamwal, Dalip Tahil and Murali Sharma in supporting roles.

In May, Rajinikanth set up a Twitter account (@superstarrajini) to promote his film Kochadaiiyaan, setting a marketing trend. The actor attracted more than 231,000 followers within a day – and with just one tweet.

Anjaan, which is produced by Thiruppathi Brothers and UTV Motion Pictures, will be out in cinemas on August 15. -IANS
