Art students in Savannah received an unexpected masterclass by Stan Lee. The Spiderman creator and head of Marvel Comics visited the Savannah College or Art and Design in Georgia school last Wednesday to discuss his storied career.Lee regaled students with life stories, including his first job in the comic industry in the 1940s.
“They gave me a big eraser and I had to go over the pages to make sure the pencil marks didn’t show,” he recalled.
“You guys are actually drawing. I never got past erasing.”
The 89-year-old Lee was in Georgia to receive an honorary award as part of the Savannah Film Festival.
He slipped out to the school during the festival screening of The Amazing Spiderman.
