Star Wars superfan and YouTube user, Snooperking, has recreated every scene of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer using Lego, to the delight of fans of both the movie and the popular kids' building bricks – the video had well over two million views on YouTube at the time of writing.
Snooperking says that the whole effort took under 24 hours – impressive considering everything from Daisy Ridley’s bike to the Millennium Falcon and that supercool new lightsabre gets the plastic brick treatment, and leading commenters to note that if he could pull this off in 24 hours, perhaps he has time to make the full movie before it finally hits screens in December 2015.
If you’ve been inspired by the trailer, you may be interested to learn that the Middle East’s firt Lego-certified store has just opened at Yas Mall. The store invited 300 children to an opening workshop to celebrate the store’s arrival, and the kids helped to build a giant, 151,000 brick Lego mosaic to mark the occasion.
“With a focus on encouraging free creative thinking across the globe, LEGO Group is happy to launch the first LEGO Certified store in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Majid Al Futtaim Leisure & Entertainment. LEGO products and LEGO bricks are more than a toy – it is a fun, entertaining and engaging play experience for children and adults. We look forward to bringing this play experience to even more children in the region with our extensive range of LEGO products,” commented Simon Stansfield Bast, LEGO director & country manager for Middle East and Africa.
