It may not have won the same critical plaudits as Christopher Nolan’s take on Batman, and it may not have garnered the same box office success as The Avengers, but for my money, Sin City was the greatest comic book adaptation to date.
I don’t want to go on at too much length about the amazing cinematography, or the fact it actually felt like you were watching a comic book (which some reviewers seemed to take issue with. I’d have thought that was a good thing) but even before Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For’s August release, it seems that director Robert Rodriguez and comic book author Frank Miller are looking forward to part three.
Rodriguez said in an interview with Total Film magazine: "We've already talked about a third film and what stories it would involve. We haven't written it out yet, but we know what stories we'd do, which ones would be original and which ones would be adapted."
For all we know it could be terrible, but the names Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez are enough to leave us optimistic.
