Shah Rukh Khan has announced his next project, the crime thriller Raees. The Bollywood superstar will be playing a smuggler, while the actor and producer Farhan Akhtar will play the cop chasing him. "Shooting for this film will begin next year," says the film's director Rahul Dholakia. "We all have decided to release this film for Eid in 2015." SRK and Akhtar worked together for the remake version of Don and its sequel Don 2, where Akhtar was involved in the project as a producer. – IANS
Matthew Perry remaking The Odd Couple
Matthew Perry has signed on to star, write and executive-produce a new version of Neil Simon's classic The Odd Couple for the American network CBS. He will play the role of Oscar, while the Felix role has not yet been cast. "Ever since seeing the movie The Odd Couple when I was 10 years old, it has been a dream for me to play Oscar Madison," Perry told Deadline. Since Friends ended in 2004, Perry has starred in three shows that ended up getting cancelled: Studio 60, Mr Sunshine and Go On. – IANS
Nagarjuna: Forbes 100 list ‘an inflated fantasy’
The Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, who ranked 34th on earnings for 2013 in Forbes India's celebrity 100 list, published on Friday, said that the survey inaccurately portrays his income. "Despite my repeated requests and email, my name appeared with non-validated figures in their latest issue, which I think is an inflated fantasy," said Nagarjuna. "It is my hope that the respected business editors' estimates are validated by individuals to be more appropriate." According to the list, Nagarjuna earned 205 million Indian rupees (Dh12.1m) this year. Shah Rukh Khan topped the list. – IANS
Baccarin and Saylor won’t be regulars on Homeland’s fourth season
The US network Showtime announced on Saturday that the Homeland stars Morena Baccarin and Morgan Saylor will not be returning as series regulars on the Emmy-winning drama's fourth season, reported TV Line. Baccarin plays the wife of Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), while Saylor plays their daughter. Homeland's third season finale was shown in the US yesterday. – The National staff
