The Barbadian pop star Rihanna is nearing the end of her globetrotting 777 tour. To promote her seventh album, Unapologetic, she is taking a private Boeing 777 jet to seven gigs in seven different countries in seven nights. After starting the tour in Mexico City last Wednesday, she's performed in Toronto, Stockholm, Paris and Berlin. She will be playing London tonight, with the final act taking place in New York tomorrow. - The National staff

Bieber-Gomez romance on the rocks

Two days after Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber rekindled their romance, they were said to have had a showdown at Yamato, a Japanese restaurant in California's San Fernando Valley. Gomez was reportedly visibly angry and the pair left in separate cars. Bieber followed Gomez home, but was turned away at the door. TMZ.com posted photos of an angry-looking Bieber outside a gated driveway. Bieber later tweeted "there is alot of pressure. im figuring it all out. im trying. but i care, i notice, i still hear u. #Beliebers". - The National staff

McCartney to stage hurricane charity gig

Sir Paul McCartney is putting together a charity show in New York to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The show will be held at Madison Square Garden and will reportedly feature The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and the Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters. Sources said McCartney's connection with New York goes back to when the Beatles played Shea Stadium in the 1960s and that many of his friends were severely affected by the hurricane. - IANS

Holmes hopes for Dawson's Creek reunion

Katie Holmes says she would love to reprise her role in the popular teenage drama Dawson's Creek, which ran for six seasons until 2003. It also featured Michelle Williams, James Van Der Beek and Joshua Jackson. "I love everyone from the show. We have kind of talked about it [a reunion] here and there, but we're like, 'What do you do?' Because [in] our last episode, Michelle's character passed away... [and] we were already, like, five years older, so... I don't know yet..." the UK's Daily Star newspaper quoted her as saying. - IANS

Russell Crowe to sell Australian rugby team stake

The Hollywood star Russell Crowe is planning to sell his stake in the Australian rugby league team he co-owns in an attempt to simplify his life after splitting from his wife, a report claims. Crowe has been a fan of the National Rugby League outfit South Sydney Rabbitohs since childhood and regularly turns up to watch their home games. In 2006 he and the businessman Peter Holmes à Court bought 75 per cent of the club but Channel Nine claimed Crowe was ready to sell following his split last month from his wife Danielle Spencer. The club had no comment. - AFP
