Sharjah Art Foundation are searching for writers, curators and artists to take part in next year's March Meetings.
The 2014 edition will be a series of presentations covering issues in contemporary culture as well as how ideas become art works and the thinking behind institutions. The meeting is also a point of departure for Sharjah Biennial 12, set to take place in 2015. Some of the commissioned artists will attend to give shape to their unimagined projects and there will be collective research and evaluation sessions as well as informal discussions to encourage everyone to participate.
The open call is asking for five to eight attendees to act as a correspondent for the Sharjah Art Foundation. They will sponsor the artists, writers, and curators with research goals and interest in the region to attend all days of the March Meeting and they will, in turn, be expected to contribute an essay, blog post, diaristic record, or alternative response to the event.
Applicants should submit a completed application, outlining their research, goals, and nature of the contribution they wish to carry out in response to March Meeting 2014 to marchmeeting@sharjahart.org by 5th January 2014.
