National Symphony Orchestra launch season with breast cancer awareness concert

The National Symphony Orchestra will open its 2014-2015 season with a concert to honour breast cancer survivors and to raise awareness of the non-profit organisation Breast Cancer Arabia.

Sing for Pink, to be held at the Brighton College Abu Dhabi Auditorium on October 11, features the three NSO sopranos, the American Gretchen Hewitt, the Venezuelan Sonia González and Louise Merrifield from England.

The professionally trained trio will perform a selection of popular operatic and Broadway numbers with a repertoire including, Carmen, La Traviata, Carnival and Wizard of Oz.

Backing them on piano is Aurora Muratti. The visual artist Wilma Burton will provide paintings as the backdrop to the stage.
