If you're prone to forgetting important occasions – or tend to leave gift-buying until the very last minute – then the new online gift service by Nakkash Gallery in Dubai could be something of a godsend.

“These days, everyone is so busy, and they seem to have everything but time on their hands,” says Aya Nakkash, the marketing manager of Nakkash Gallery. “We launched our online gift service to offer a gifting experience that is unique and convenient. The idea is that, regardless of someone’s schedule, they’ll be able to select and purchase a meticulously curated item online, and have it delivered to their home or straight to the gift recipient.”

The newly launched service offers a range of items, across a variety of price points. They’re conveniently grouped by price, making it much easier for those who already have an idea of how much they’d like to spend. There are Voluspa room sprays, in a range of enticing scents, costing as little as Dh87; beautifully packaged candles from Dh150 to Dh240; fancy frames, vases, bowls and bookends, as well as statues and sculptures for as much as Dh3,000.

“When selecting the items, we knew they had to reflect our design philosophy and style. Each hand-picked piece is timeless and elegant, which is just how we like things to be at Nakkash Gallery. We tried to select an array of items suitable for every occasion,” Nakkash explains.

The pieces are in keeping with the brand’s wider offering. Nakkash Gallery, which opened its first store in Garhoud in 1983, and followed it with an 800-square-metre showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road in 2014, specialises in original, high-quality, contemporary yet elegant furniture and accessories.

In the store, clean lines, striking colours, bold shapes and quality materials dominate, with the odd hint of fun thrown in for good measure – and the same applies online, with the Soccer Kick bookends, Apple with Face sculpture and Roosevelt clock offering a fun twist to the gift-buying experience.

Many of the products are exclusive to the online service. These include sculptures by Global Views, and candleholders by Eichholtz, a Dutch brand that prides itself on offering unique handcrafted pieces sourced predominantly from countries such as Myanmar, India, China and Thailand.

While the online service is still in its early days, the ranges will be expanded and developed, Nakkash says. “Items are expected to change from season to season, with a few bestsellers and small accessories available year round. In the future, we hope to get a better feel for what our clients would like to see, and expand our offering based on that.”

The service also includes complimentary gift wrapping, and guaranteed delivery in Dubai within 24 hours. Shoppers elsewhere in the UAE can expect their purchases to be delivered within 48 hours. And if you’re worried about your gift not being appreciated, the company also promises a hassle-free exchange policy.
