Tickets are selling fast for this month's Sandance festival on Friday and if the past two sold-out events are anything to go by, there will be a last-minute dash for tickets this week. The organisers have revealed the running order and, given the inevitable traffic congestion on the Palm, they advise getting to Atlantis beach early to catch what's sure to be one of the most memorable moments in UAE concert history, Nile Rodgers and Chic, who are set to perform at 5.45pm. Next up are Basement Jaxx at 7.30pm. The UK electro duo have performed in the UAE before and their live shows have always gone down a storm.

The headliners Jamiroquai will take the stage at 9pm and concertgoers are encouraged to wear their best, funky and over-the-top Jay Kay-style hat for the chance to win free gifts. After a set from the British acid jazz-funk group, the UK electro ensemble-of-the-moment Rudimental will play a live set at 10.45pm. From 11.30pm Sandance resident DJ Smokingroove keeps the party going, he is followed by DJs Martin Solveig, Laidback Luke and Richard Durand until closing time at 3am.

Sandance has just announced that four-time Grammy-nominated DJ Axwell, of Swedish House Mafia (Don't You Worry Child, Save the World and In My Mind), will headline the New Year's Eve event on December 31. We have also heard on the grapevine that the Scottish singer Emeli Sande (Next to Me, Beneath Your Beautiful with Labrinth) is appearing on NYE too, but the organisers have not confirmed this rumour. To find out the line-up first-hand, you'll need to be on the sand on Friday.
