Jebel Ali's location will help the area weather the downturn better than some of the huge developments planned for Dubai's outskirts, reports Angela Giuffrida for The National.
Tanmiyat, the developer behind the Living Legends project in Dubailand, has suspended off-plan payments until it has drawn up a revised payment plan for the project, Arabian Business reports.
And Khaleej Times pushes forward yesterday's "everyone's flocking to new Dubai" story by reporting that, according to the paper's straw poll, rents have dropped by 45 per cent in some areas of the city, drawing renters from the cramped confines of Deira and Bur Dubai into the spacious pseudo-suburbs of Discovery Gardens.
