Magic Mike XXL will not release in UAE

Although for a brief, confusing moment it seemed that Magic Mike XXL would be getting a UAE release, a spokesman for distributor Shooting Stars, which holds the regional theatrical rights for the movie, assured us today "it 100 per cent isn't happening".

It was hard to imagine that a sequel about a troupe of male exotic dancers who reunite for one last hurrah would screen here, given the subject matter and that the original, Magic Mike, did not.

But there it was earlier this week, on UAE release schedules, with a date of September 3. Shooting Stars assure us its inclusion was a “mistake”.
