Lego The Lord of the Rings

This is another great addition to the ever-increasing library of charmingly chucklesome yellow-faced adaptations.

Whoever had the idea to give Lego's video games a comical twist is a genius. Despite being one of an ever-increasing library of charmingly chucklesome yellow-faced adaptations, Lego LotR has the giggles coming thick and fast from the outset.

Frodo drops the ring, Gandalf skids to a halt on his horse, Aragorn loudly slurps from a straw in The Prancing Pony inn - it's all there, and made even more amusing by the actual (serious) audio from Peter Jackson's films.

The game takes you on a tour of the main scenes, following the usual collect-the-coins, build-the-bridge, flip-the-switch Lego routine, but this time with Middle Earth's line-up of characters to use as you journey to Mount Doom.

It should be boring by now, but it just isn't.
