Katy Perry will headline next year’s Super Bowl halftime show. Perry, 30, has dominated the Billboard charts since releasing her debut single in 2008. Her latest album, Prism, was released last year and spawned the hit singles Roar and Dark Horse. The Grammy-nominated star’s performance at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona on February 1 will be the fourth consecutive halftime show to highlight the NFL’s move to feature younger acts. The recent trend marks a move away from veteran performers such as The Who, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, who all appeared during the past decade. – AP
