Jimmy Fallon is visiting the Sunshine State for his first TV trip since taking over The Tonight Show. The NBC show originates this week from the Universal Orlando Resort, where Fallon and company will tape editions to broadcast from Monday to Thursday. Guests include Jennifer Lopez and Keenen Ivory Wayans on Monday, while Jimmy Buffett and Kevin Hart are scheduled for Tuesday. Rosario Dawson joins Fallon on Wednesday, with George Lopez dropping by on Thursday. The Florida trip is the first week of remote tapings since Fallon took over The Tonight Show mantle from Jay Leno in February. With Fallon's ascension to the host job, Tonight reclaimed New York as its home after decades based in Los Angeles. Tracy Morgan now in fair condition after crash
The actor and comedian Tracy Morgan has been upgraded to "fair condition" following the New Jersey motorway crash that badly injured him and killed one of his friends, his spokesman Lewis Kay said on Monday. "His personality is certainly starting to come back as well," Kay added. The 45-year-old former Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock star suffered broken ribs and a broken leg in the June 7 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. The crash killed his fellow comedian James McNair and seriously injured two other people. Prosecutors say the Wal-Mart driver Kevin Roper's truck hit Morgan's limo. The Jonesboro, Georgia, resident has pleaded not guilty to death-by-auto and assault-by-auto charges. – AP
Aamir Khan launches Indian centre for women’s protection
The Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has launched India's first "One Stop Crisis Centre" in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, aimed at protecting women. Khan, known for his sensitive treatment of social issues on his hard-hitting television show Satyamev Jayate, said: "Though this is the beginning to a long-term solution, it is essential for people to know that they will be punished for the crime, and they will be caught, and the centre will assure that." Spielberg’s next movies have release dates set
Steven Spielberg's next two films are due out in October 2015 and July 2016. DreamWorks announced on Monday that an untitled Cold War spy thriller from Spielberg will open on October 16 of next year, and The BFG is planned for July 1, 2016. The Cold War thriller is to star Tom Hanks as James Donovan, an attorney negotiating the return of an American pilot from the Soviet Union in 1960. The BFG is a live-action adaptation of Roald Dahl's 1982 children's book. The 67-year-old Spielberg is juggling numerous producing jobs in television and film. His last directed movie was 2012's Oscar-winning Lincoln. – AP
Anees Bazmee to direct Aankhen 2
Twelve years after Vipul Shah's directorial debut Aankhen – about a bunch of blind men undertaking a bank heist – the film's producer Gaurang Doshi is planning a sequel with Anees Bazmee as the director. The original starred Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Sushmita Sen, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Bipasha Basu. "Twelve years seems like a long time to sit on a sequel," said Doshi. "Aankhen 2 will have a completely new cast, but the actors will be as exciting this time." – IANS
