The deadline is looming for this year’s IWC Schaffhausen Award, which offers US$100,000 towards the production of the winning film each year at December’s Dubai International Film Festival.
To qualify for the award from the Swiss watch manufacturer, films must be fictional features in the advanced stages of development, the director must be a citizen of a GCC country, and a producer must already be attached to the project.
Last year’s winner, Waleed Al Shahhi’s Dolphins, has completed shooting in Ras Al Khaimah and is currently in post-production. No official release date has been confirmed, but we wouldn’t bet heavily against it taking a prime slot at this year’s DIFF.
If you're interested in bidding for this year's award, the deadline for submissions is August 15th. Find out more here.
