Despite our best attempts, life happens, particularly when it comes to our homes. From stains on the carpets to chipped crockery, accidents in the house are almost inevitable. This is especially true for those with little ones.

If you’ve ever had the unfortunate experience of your child taking to your walls with a crayon to create a glorious masterpiece (aka a huge mess), you can rest assured that you’re not completely out of luck. Put down the phone to the painters and put your wallet away. You’ll only need a few products that, believe it or not, you already have in your house: an old toothbrush and toothpaste. Apply the toothpaste to the crayoned area and start scrubbing. The fine abrasive that typically removes food and tartar from your teeth will do the same for the crayon on your wall. Once finished, wipe down the area with a damp cloth.

Alternatively, if your paint is easily removed, you can look to your fridge for help. Mayonnaise makes a great crayon remover and can work within minutes. Apply to the marked area, leave for several minutes and remove with a damp (white) cloth.
