Mobile-phone cases are available from just about any electronics store or mall kiosk, and come in a mind-boggling array of colours, materials and designs. For all the varieties available, however, making your own phone case is still a fun and family-friendly activity. You’ll need a clear phone case that fits your phone, several different nail polish colours, a ruler, stencils, tape and glaze.
To create multicoloured stripes, begin by painting the first coat of each colour onto the clear case, using the ruler to create straight lines. Let the first coat dry and repeat twice more. Once the third coat has dried, paint over the case with glaze to seal the nail polish, then allow it to dry. Alternatively, you can use stencils to create more detailed designs. Tape the stencil to the case and paint each section in a colour of your choice. The stencil should not be removed until the third coat of polish has been applied. Once it dries, add a coat of glaze and allow to set.
To make more than one case, so that you can swap it every few months, choose colours that are appropriate to the season or match certain outfits.
