The Bollywood actress and politician Hema Malini, who was involved in a car crash on Thursday that resulted in the death of a two-year-old girl, was discharged on Saturday from a hospital where she was undergoing treatment after the accident in Dausa, Rajasthan, according to hospital officials. Four others were injured in the accident.
Malini’s driver, Mahesh Chand Thakur, was arrested on charges of speeding and causing death by negligence. He was later granted bail.
Malini, 66, was admitted to hospital after sustaining injuries when her Mercedes-Benz rammed into another car, injuring four members of the Kandelwal family and killing the fifth.
“Hema Malini was discharged at around 9.30am,” said Prateem Tamboli, facility director of Fortis Escorts Hospital.
