The Burj Al Arab is set to open an exclusive new nightlife venue – where the walls will “shimmer with gold”.
The exclusive-sounding Gold on 27 – set on the 27th floor naturally – will launch on April 8, and promises “exhilarating” views of the Dubai skyline and the Arabian Gulf.
In keeping with the glitzy theme, in addition to the shimmering walls will be an art deco design and a soulful house soundtrack.
The lounge venue, however, will not serve food.
Access to the world-renowned hotel is generally only granted to those with a reservation at one of the venue’s restaurants, but Gold on 27 suggests a new drive to bring Dubai residents into the iconic sail-shaped structure – there’s even a special app for bookings.
However it will not be the first gold-theme lounge in the emirate.
The Monarch hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road – now The H Hotel – opened a Gold Lounge in 2010, which closed some time after.
