The inaugural Ramadan Evenings event is well underway at Abu Dhabi’s Manarat Al Saadiyat. Visitors and guests are invited to take part in a set of interactive, educational and artistically engaging workshops that are specifically designed to engage them with Emirati culture.

Those who get involved can watch live demonstrations of traditional arts and crafts and then, try their hand. Some of the skills on offer include learning how to weave a hand-knotted carpet on a loom, silk screen painting using Islamic motifs and even the delicate art of calligraphy. There are also more accessible workshops in painting, clay and other decorative materials.

Al Fanr restaurant is offering artistically curated food with iftars designed in collaboration with artist Maryam Al Suwaidi, creative florist Sumayya Al Miskari and chef Faisal Naser.

Featuring a variety of tailored panels, table vases and furniture that utilise evocative elements of Emirati design, guests will be able to learn more about the origins of these traditional elements through written narrations provided on their placemats.

Organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), Ramadan Evenings are held daily between 7.30pm and 11.30pm until June 17 at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
