Eagle-eyed Fast and the Furious fans may have spotted that the current tranche of advertised release dates for the Abu Dhabi-shot Furious 7, ranging from an early start on March 26 2015 in Brazil to April 17 in Japan, doesn't at the moment include the UAE. Don't get too upset about that, though – it seems the reason for the omission could well be that the movie is set to get its world premiere right here in Abu Dhabi, presumably before the March opening in Brazil – and fittingly, as Abu Dhabi is where much of the action takes place. Reliable sources tell us that the production team have been in the capital scouting locations for the movie's glitzy global premiere.
The smart money is on the theatre at Emirates Palace – much of the action was filmed at the glitzy hotel, and the venue is used to hosting red carpet events, seeing as it is the headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival.
We understand that the team have also been checking out other possible cinemas and locations in the capital though, including the newly opened Vox Cinemas at Yas Mall.
