For this month’s eclectic fashion editorial, we selected brands that have shown a commitment to ethical or sustainable practices. These include: Céline, because it uses no child or forced labour; Mochi, which offers unique pieces created by local artisans; Mary Katrantzou, who was part of the Third Paradise collaboration, where select designers were asked to create a dress using ethically sourced Italian textiles, and because her technique of digital printing helps reduce wastage by printing each panel of cloth required for a garment, rather than printing long runs; and Gucci, which has pioneered a new technique for treating leather, eliminating the use of highly toxic chrome and cyanide, and has vowed to give this groundbreaking technology away for free.
