After a five-year hiatus, Dubai Fashion Week will return to the UAE’s calendar.

Having originally launched in 2006, the event showcased the seasonal ready-to-wear collections of regional designers until it ended in 2011.

This time around, DFW will be held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hend Al Qassemi, editor-in-chief of Velvet Magazine and author of The Black Book of Arabia.

The revamped event will be staged bi-annually, in March and October, following on from the ‘big four’ fashion weeks of New York, London, Milan and Paris.

The objective of DFW is to promote and support regional designers while inviting luminaries from the international world of couture and prêt-a-porter to exhibit alongside them in the UAE.

A full list of participants for Dubai Fashion Week's March 2017 event is expected to be announced in the coming months. For more information go to www.dfw.ae
