With plenty of Middle East premiere's taking place this week, here's a top film date for your diary.
When: Tuesday 10th December at 9pm
Where: VOX, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai
What: A biopic about English theatre and film producer Michael White, pictured above. The film traces the highs and lows of the impresario's career, which comprised more than 300 shows over 5 decades. Famous faces to feature in the short movie include Yoko Ono whom White first introduced to John Lennon, and supermodel Kate Moss.
Who: The film's director Gracie Otto is in town for the regional premiere of her bio-doc. It was following a chance encounter with White in Cannes three years ago that she decided to showcase the entertainment figure's life.
“Meeting Michael was such a life changing moment,” she said ahead of the DIFF screening ”I’ve come to discover just how big a part he played in film and theatre history yet remained so enigmatic. He moved within an incredible circle of cultural icons, he was the life of the party and still lives in the moment, always looking forward. I’m thrilled we can share his story.”
